Our Regenerative Vision
At Clade Apparel, we believe that real luxury isn’t about excess — it’s about integrity. For us, regenerative means designing that enhances the land, supports the people who make it, and uses every part of the story.
- We source materials with full transparency and ethical upstream practices.
- We make garments built for years, not seasons — because durability, repairability and timeless design are the ultimate sustainability.
- We partner with producers who think beyond commodity — whose systems restore soil, raise animals with care, and preserve landscape biodiversity.

Meet Our Partner — First Light Farms
We’re proud to collaborate with First Light Farms, a New Zealand-based collective of farmers who practice pasture-based, 100% grass-fed Wagyu and other heritage herds.
Their approach exemplifies regeneration:
- Cattle roam open pastures where soil health, native vegetation, water-way protection and biodiversity are prioritized.
- Each animal is valued — raised with minimal inputs, grain-free, and processed with full respect for the life it contributed.
- The hides from these herds become the foundation of our “nothing wasted” philosophy: the material that other systems discard becomes the material we honor.

The Journey — From Pasture to Jacket
- On First Light’s pastures, soil is nurtured, grasses are rotated, ecosystems regenerated. It’s where the story begins.
- When nature’s cycle completes, the hides are not sidelined—they become raw material for outerwear. No avoidable waste, no shortcuts.
- At Clade, skilled artisans in NYC handle every step: tanning (minimal treatment), cutting around character, stitching with longevity in mind.

Why This Matters
- Our full-grain hides carry natural markings, character and story. We don’t hide the origins — we accentuate them.
- Regenerative land use captures carbon, supports resilient soil and enhances biodiversity — meaning your purchase contributes far beyond a wardrobe upgrade.
- We commit to transparent factories, fair wages and full chain-traceability.
- Fewer pieces, higher quality, deeper meaning. When you invest in something built right, you buy less — wear more — waste less.
Regenerative Practices

At Clade we define regenerative as systems that restore soil, enhance ecosystems, and create materials that support long-term value—not just lower impact.
Yes. Their animals are grass-finished, raised in open pasture systems with a priority on land health, animal welfare and full use of the animal.
Every hide is maximised. Marks and character remain in the leather. Off-cuts become patches, tags or small goods. Nothing unnecessary is discarded.
Minimal intervention. Use a soft cloth, avoid heavy chemicals, condition only when required. We include care instructions with each piece.
